Who can access the KnowledgeBase?
Anyone who is registered on the Support website can access the KnowledgeBase. To register, you need to have a valid product licence.
How do I access the KnowledgeBase?
- If you have not yet registered, you need to register as a new user. After you register, you will be automatically logged on.
If you are already registered, logon to the Support website at cch.co.uk/softwaresupport/logon.
- Click 'KnowledgeBase' in the left-hand menu or go directly to cch.co.uk/softwaresupport/kb
Do I have to logon to visit the KnowledgeBase?
If you have just registered, you will be logged on automatically. However, on subsequent visits, you will be prompted to logon again when you visit areas like the KnowledgeBase or Download Centre.
To logon, simply type your personal username (e.g. firstname.lastname) and password into the User Logon box, and click Logon.
How do I search the KnowledgeBase?
The easiest way to search for an answer is:
- Select a product from the Product dropdown (e.g. CCH CorTAX).
- Enter two or three words into the 'Search text' field (e.g. 'global roll forward').
- Click Search.
The KnowledgeBase lists search results in order of usefulness. Simply click on an answer Summary link to view the answer. To go back to the list of results, click the Answers tab in the top left corner.
How do I list all answers for one product?
To list all answers for a particular product, select a Product from the Product dropdown and click Search.
How do I list the most recent answers?
Choose 'Answer ID' from the 'Sort by' dropdown, then click Search. Answers added most recently (i.e. with the highest ID number) will appear at the top of the list.
How do I search for an answer by its ID number?
CCH may refer you to an answer by giving you a 5-digit ID number (e.g. 12314). Simply type the ID number into the 'Search text' field then click Search. Only one answer is listed in the search results. To view the answer, click on the answer Summary.
What if I can't find what I'm looking for?
If you can't find an answer:
- Check that you are searching the right Product
- Check that you have deleted any search text you typed in for an earlier question
- Try typing fewer words into the Search text field to widen your search
